Policy dialogue: Confiscation of property and illegally acquired property

On June 8th, 2018 (Friday), the European Policy Institute conducted a policy dialogue on the topic “Confiscation of property and illegally acquired property ” in Public Room, within the framework of the project Network 23+. EPI’s director, Dr. Simonida Kacarska and the minister of internal affairs Oliver Spasovski gave their introductory speeches.

Panelists were:
  • Dr. Slagjana Taseva, president of Transparency International – Macedonia
  • Prof. Dr. Lazar Nanev, judge
  • Dragan Malinovski, lawyer
  • Prof. Dr. Boban Misoski, professor at the Law faculty „Јустинијан Први“ in Skopje
The discussion included representatives from institutions responsible for the implementation of these measures, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as representatives from the academy.

This policy dialogue’s goal was a structured debate on options to enhance the co-operation of institutions and the overall system in order to successfully implement the confiscation.

The debate is organized within the project Network 23+, financially supported by the European Union and co financially supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade. The project is implemented by the European Policy Institute and the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in the Republic of Macedonia.
